About
A residence wrapped around a courtyard of mature oaks. Sliding rammed-earth walls modulate daylight as the sun tracks across the central patio.

Notes
The site held twelve mature oaks before construction began. Twelve remained when the family moved in. The plan rotates around a single courtyard that preserves the densest cluster, and the rammed-earth walls inboard of the trees can slide open to let the canopy through. We chose materials that would weather visibly — earth, oak, lime plaster — so the house ages on the same timeline as the trees.
