About
A mixed-use townhouse on the Schelde quay accommodating a ground-floor studio and three apartments above. Brick coursing matches the 1890s neighbors at street level and shifts to charred timber above.

Notes
A narrow 18-metre plot on the Schelde quay, occupied historically by a single-family townhouse that had long outgrown its program. We rebuilt the structure as four discrete units: a ground-floor studio that opens directly to the water, and three apartments stacked above. The street elevation matches the 1890s neighbors in coursing and proportion at street level, then deliberately departs above the lintel line — charred timber, recessed reveals, blackened steel.
